Managing Oneself by Peter F. Drucker

I re-read Managing Oneself by Peter F. Drucker every year. Not because I’ve forgotten it. Because I’ve changed. Same words. Different lens. Each time, something hits harder: • A strength I’ve overused • A value I’ve quietly compromised • A way of working that no longer fits Drucker doesn’t give you fluff. He gives you questions you can’t dodge: – What are my strengths? – How do I perform? – Where do I belong? – What is my contribution? Ponder this ... If you’re not revisiting those regularly, you’re might be simply drifting. Are you okay with this? No judgement, just a reflective moment for you. Let's go deeper: Saying yes when you should say no? Working against your natural strengths? Staying in roles or rhythms that quietly drain you? Drucker's short essay is like a leadership reset. It pulls you back to: ✔️ Strengths over fixing weaknesses ✔️ Contribution over busyness ✔️ Alignment over obligation You don’t re-read it for new information. You re-read it to realign who you are with how you lead. Because the moment those two drift apart… performance follows. If you haven't read it, here's your invitation. If you haven’t read it in a while, revisit it. You’ll meet a different version of yourself on the page.
